Plastic accompanies us everywhere in our everyday lives – even in places where we would not expect it at first glance. Did you know that all conventional photo paper is coated with plastic and therefore cannot be disposed of in the waste-paper recycling system? This is because the coating contains polyethylene (PE), and it is not possible to separate this from the paper base.

Imagine a world without plastic. With our GreenGrafX Photo Paper 220 satin (3616) and GreenGrafX Photo Paper glossy (3617), you’ll be a lot closer to that vision. Less plastic, more sustainability: that’s our promise.
The material is Made in Germany, FSC® certified – and fully recyclable via the waste-paper cycle. It also produces 34% less CO2 emissions and uses 26% fewer fossil resources and 58% less water than comparable PE-filmed photographic paper.
Same quality, same colour brilliance, same gloss – but much less plastic. Sounds too good to be true? Our secret is the finishing with a special barrier and the microporous coating that replaces the PE-film but retains its important properties for photo printing.
The big advantage is that it makes the GreenGrafX Photo Papers 100% recyclable via the waste-paper cycle, so that they are certified according to the PTS RH 021/97 category II method, which is common in the recycling environment.
